For sale another lovely vintage black Russian box painted by the Russian Collection, artist: N. Kovaleva, circa 1993. The Fedoskino style miniature painting depicts a scene from "The Stone Flower" where Master Danilo is creating a malachite cup. Trimmed with beautiful gilt floral bordering. The interior with hinged lid is solid bright red, creating a rich quality item. This piece measures 4 1/2” l x 2” w x 2” d and is in good condition, some minor scratches on front and back. ************************************************************************************************ "The Stone Flower" also known as "The Flower of Stone", is a folk tale of the Ural region of Russia collected and reworked by Pavel Bazhov, and published in Literaturnaya Gazeta on 10 May 1938 and in Uralsky Sovremennik.
